Epic, Awkward, Vegas

Photobucket

it's not awkward unless you make it awkward,

or unless you throw up.

that, well, that is always awkward. oh, and attractive. can we just talk about how attractive it is to get sick and realize you're no closer to a trash can than you are to preventing the oncoming nausea?

no?
fine.
we'll come back to that later.

now about that music festival,
the one to which i coincidentally booked a plane ticket,
the one i decided to go to with an almost-stranger
(who made a very convincing argument).
and the one i went to
because I love
electronic dance music,
and warm weather,
and people,
and neon,
and, well...
it was awesome.
loved it.
and i didn't take any pictures.
you're welcome.

it was worth the hours spent awake, dancing, and laughing,
and participating in complete hilarity.

although, there was this one moment when too much second-hand
smoke, combined with sleep depravation,
two days of hiking, and crazy long
work weeks may have created a less than ideal
moment to the most amazing music.
nothing like being sick to a kick-ass soundtrack.
let me tell you, it's really the perfect way to get to know someone.
really. there's none of that pretentious small talk,
just very clear communication.

"i need to go sit down."
"i'll go with you."
"no, it's fine. i just need to get away from the smoke."
"i'm going with you."
{cue me being sick}
"are you okay?"
"uh, i just threw up water.."
"so, i assume you don't smoke, especially if this is what happens?"
"nope. don't smoke."

see?
so great.

you'll just have to trust me on this one, but it really was
epic. okay, not the being sick part, but pretty much
everything else.

awkward? meh, just for a second or two.
nothing a few more hours of dancing couldn't solve.

bucket list checked.
bam.
