How do you say "Kristie Colón?"
Colón is basically pronounced like the word "cologne." It is not pronounced like your large intestines or a punctuation mark. You say "Kristie" just like you'd say, Christie, Christi, Christie, Christy, Kristi or Kristy. And no, no one ever spells my name correctly.
What are you?
I think most people mean, "What's your ethnicity?" The simple fact is that my parents are from Puerto Rico; they grew up there. I'm Hispanic, but I'm not Mexican. To be Mexican, my family would have to be from Mexico. I had to explain this a lot while growing up. I hope this helps.
Where are you?
In December 2011, I relocated to the Bay Area from Seattle, WA. I love the Pacific Northwest, but I kind of love the sunshine of California more. You'll find plenty of pictures and stories from my Seattle days and I still think it's an awesome place to visit.
What type of camera do you use?
I was once the proud owner of a Nikon D5000, but it was stolen. I replaced it with a Nikon D7000 in December 2010 and I love it. The D7000 takes HD video, which is a definite bonus.
What are your interests?
Writing, photography, movies, dancing, food (see french fries), music, reading, running, psychology, nutrition, sunshine, beaches, hugs, funny cards, and mix cd's.
You seem to have a lot of siblings. What's the final count?
I have 4 siblings from my Puerto Rican parents and I also have 2 step siblings--an older brother and older sister. In total, there are 7 kids in my family: 2 boys and 5 girls. My parents bought food in bulk. Two thumbs up for Costco.
